Bahwan Engineering Company(BEC) is one of the largest construction and engineering companies in Oman. BEC required a digital archiving and retrieval solution for its project documentation. The rich scanning features of ViciDocs were the primary focus of the implementation.

Large project involve lot of documentation and BEC generates thousands of pages daily which need to be shared with suppliers, customers etc.. Before the implementation of ViciDocs the project documentation was kept in hardcopy with many copies of the same page. Dispatch costs were also high. ViciDocs was implemented to tackle these issues. The scanning features like barcode-enabled routing of documents, multiple scanning stations utilizing one OCR engine etc. were much appreciated. Customization was done for merging pages into a single document as most of the project documents had many pages. So the OMR-based merging of scanned pages, "Append" feature etc. were introduced in the product.
